2.  Mark Mercuri


Mark Mercuri, one of the "Baby Bombers" from 1992,was one of the players that helped Essendon win the 1993 Premiership Flag. Coming from the Essendon area, Mark was one of the great talent finds for the Dons. He has made a name for himself as a bit of a goal-sneak. When the game is there to be won, he'll be there to put one in from forty (40) meters out, and the Dons will surge.

In 1997 injuries were cruel to Mark, damaging both thighs after a great start to the year. Subsequently he only managed to play half the season, and was sorely missed up forward.
