18. Matthew Lloyd
After only four seasons with the Bombers, most people see Matthew as one of the future, if not current, superstars of the game. He was picked up in the Under 16 draft in a special deal that saw three players go over to the Dockers. Having starred in the reserves a number of times, and impressing everone with his 1995 finals appearances, he is now an integral part of the Essendon forward line. In his first game he kicked a goal with his first kick in the first few minutes of the game - you can't do much better than that! He played out 1995 in the seniors, including the two finals games, the first of which he played very well. In 1996 he played almost half the season in the seniors, and dominated in the match against Adelaide kicking seven goals.
