33.  Blake Caracella

Blake Caracella came to Essendon after some very impressive performances in the Teal Cup competition, including a best on ground effort in the 1994 final playing for Vic Metro. He made his debut in 1997 for the Dons, and played fantastic football on the forward line, becoming a regular goal kicker. His courage, marking and kicking ability have been displayed with flair, giving him a number of best on ground performances already. He was nominated for the Norwich Rising Star award in Round 13 of 1997 and won the Essendon Best First Year player, further enhancing his reputation as a player with a bright future. Unfortunately he has suffered from a number of injuries which have hampered his progress over thepast year, although he still managed to play over half the season. He has recovered well over the98/99 summer, and is looking forward to a big 1999.
